I’m calling quits on blogging for a while. I’ve wanted to for some time, but I kept thinking, Aw heck, I’ll give it another shot. I’ll be leaving my blogs up until I make a permanent decision about it.

Thanks for reading and God bless :)

Top Ten Posts for 2013

Welcome to YMHM, where we are finally a mere semester away from an actual, can-you-believe-it degree! “About time!” some would say, and by ‘some’ I mean ‘all’. “All of my family.”

I know my posting lately has been lazy sporadic, so I thought I’d compile a list of YMHM’s top ten posts for 2013. I know the suspense is killing you, but please, try to remain calm:

  1. Grace: one size fits all.
  2. Four degrees of love.
  3. Sixteen fun ideas for attending a new church.
  4. Questions.
  5. Friday Funny for August thirtieth.
  6. Virtues.
  7. The God who is.
  8. God’s joy.
  9. Ruminations from the back pew: happy clappin’.
  10. Good Christians.

If you’re curious about the posts or articles I most enjoyed reading, check out my reblogs tag. You can also take a look at this post, in which I worship at the altar of longform.org. As a bonus it has a super weird graphic, so there’s that to look forward to.

How was your 2013? Personally I am convinced that time is a lie, but you know. I try to be open-minded about these things.

Thank you for skimming reading this blog this year. I truly appreciate every like and every comment, especially those that are not trying to sell me medication for erectile dysfunction.

I wish you and yours a very happy, blessed Christmas. May you not be the biggest screw-up at your family dinner. May the food be good. May your arch-nemesis not attend the Christmas service and if they do, ignore you first.

And remember: keep it classy.

A gif about eating pants.

I just call them “pants” but okay.

Honesty | Featured Blog Thursday July 11, 2013

honesty

Today’s FBT theme is, quite accidentally, ‘honesty’. These two blogs are pretty awesome and I’ve found a great deal of encouragement in reading them.

First up we have JS Park, ‘the atheist pastor’, who bills his blog as being for struggling Christians. I want my blog to be like his when it’s all grown up. His willingness to tackle tough questions is refreshing, so if you’re not already following him I suggest you sign up at once.

Secondly we have Registered Runaway, whose heartfelt posts about being a gay Christian are touching and insightful. All sides of the ‘gay argument’ should be made to sit down and read this blogger’s words.  Look out especially for the Love Letter series: it’s grace in action.

What blogs have you been reading?

Have a great Thursday!

Reblog: #Hashtag Christianity – Stephen Mattson | God’s Politics Blog | Sojourners

Hashtag Christianity isn’t necessarily bad, but it can cause self-righteousness and provide a false sense of spirituality. It has the danger of making us believe we’re living out our faith without really doing anything.

Can you relate? I know I can: Hashtag Christianity – Stephen Mattson | God’s Politics Blog | Sojourners.

Skadoosh :)

I’d like to thank Kathy over at 365 Days to Unstuck for nominating me for the Liebster and Versatile Blogger awards (!). Since I can never think of six (or eleven) things about myself (err, my name is Liana and err…) , I’m just going to redirect you to her lovely blog and its array of delicious and artsy projects. She’s taken a very hands-on approach to spicing up her life that is a little intimidating, did you see the recipes?? inspiring :) to say the least.

Looking back at 2012

Flowers

2012 has been an interesting year. When it started I thought it would never end, and now I can’t believe it’s over. I began this blog about a year ago (the official anniversary was 13 December). Reading back over those first few posts, in which I was trying to make sense of a (to me) very new faith, I can’t believe how much I’ve grown. It hasn’t always felt like it. Hell, in the middle of the busy, crowded shopping center this morning it didn’t feel like it! But I have. And in the midst of all my hoping and praying for huge life-altering changes, God instead worked a million little ones in me. He’s a funny guy :)

Here are some of my top posts from the past year:

1. One moment.

2. Spring.

3. Guilt.

4. Soar.

5. Hey, Christians who struggle with depression.

6. ‘Not A Fan’ review.

7. 5 Traits of Christian Friends.

8. Reblog: When people ask ‘Where is God?’ be the answer.

9. Reblog: The sun is still shining.

10. Reblog: I am pro-people.

Thank you for reading, liking, commenting, inspiring and encouraging! I’m planning a few new ‘regular’ features for your mess, His Message in 2013, so I hope you’ll stick around. I pray that 2013 is nothing more and nothing less than what God wants for you.

Have a great New Year’s!

Liana xx

I won something!
